Join us for the next edition of Startup Weekend where you can come and start to make your ideas a reality. Startup Calgary is excited to bring you this Startup Weekend with ATB Financial and if you happen to have an idea that can transform banking you could win the Transformational Banking prize. Not sure what transformational banking is? Well if you can come up with a solution that impacts transparency, organizational costs, improving efficiencies, or improving customer experience then you have an idea that could transform banking. Startup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. It is the largest community of passionate entrepreneurs with more than 8,000 startups created in over 100 countries around the world.

All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then it’s a 54 hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing and market validation resulting in a minimum viable product (MVP).

The weekend culminates with presentations in front of a mix local entrepreneurial leaders and ATB executives where the top three teams are awarded prizes in addition to bragging rights and media coverage.
