What is DemoCamp?
It’s an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It’s typically a monthly event, and features 4-7 live demos, followed by discussion and interaction from participants. DemoCamps typically last between 1.5 and 2 hours.
We’re pleased to announced the next DemoCamp Calgary (#29), which will be held on May 11th, 2015. We’re going oldskool and going back to hosting near the University of Calgary @ Innovate Calgary’s offices.
As you know, DemoCamp Calgary is a free event, but ideally we’d like everyone to register.
What are the Rules?
There aren’t a lot of rules, but the rules we have are set in stone.
Rule #1: You must talk about DemoCamp. Tell your friends, and bring someone interesting to the next event.
Rule #2: No powerpoint or slideshow allowed. Why no .ppt? Well, do you have working software or don’t you?
Rule #3: Demos are not a second over 5 minutes each. Short and sweet! And follow with Q&A for about 3-4 minutes max.
Rule #4: There are no rules. We’ll continue to do what’s right for the community.
Logistics
We will be hosting DemoCamp Calgary #29 at Innovate Calgary (near the University of Calgary). There is ample parking available and the C-Train (Brentwood) is next door. Doors at 6pm, kick off at 6:30pm.
Side note: if you are hiring, or looking for a job, we normally give the opportunity to announce this between demos. So please don’t be shy when we shine the spot light on the crowd. :)
I Want to Demo!
